RAINBOW CROWN PODCAST EPISODES SYNOPSIS:

Episode Introduction:

Su'ganni is living proof that a cadre of Massachusetts incarcerated persons are taking responsibility, transforming, and doing remarkable work within and beyond the walls of prison.
Su'ganni gives an introduction of the Rainbow Crown podcast, his inclusive vision, and the work he is doing to help his family, community, and country prosper.

Episode One: Who I Was/Who I Am:

"... I take responsibility for helping to destroy my community with drugs, guns, and crime. My responsibility is meant to be held accountable, not to be glorified..."
The transformation of Su'ganni's Mind and spirit was a struggle. This episode gives a glimpse into Su'ganni's journey of trauma and overcoming that pain to then go on to start doing amazing work as a change agent.

Episode Two: Transgenders Do Matter:

Unfortunately, the reputation of transgender incarcerated persons within Massachusetts "male" state prisons is bad. The incarcerated population view incarcerated trans folks as being informants, drama, and false accusers of sexual assault. Su'ganni speaks on the need for empathy, care, and support for inside transgenders, to help them with self-care, advocacy, accountability, and preparation for a positive reintegration back into society. The need for organizations to step up to empower inside trans folks and show the inside trans community that they really care through their actions not words.

Black & Pink is a national abolitionist organization that supports LBBTQ+ incarcerated individuals around the United States. This organization was founded in Massachusetts in the year 2005. Su'ganni speaks on his love for the organization through its good, bad, and ugly. How he came to restart the Massachusetts chapter, calling it BPMC and the wonderful work his leadership team is doing to help this organization become influential.

Su'ganni's painstaking road to redemption, value, and activism. Bad karma of doing harm and crime took Su'ganni on a path of anger, loss, and defeat. His transformation took him off of that dead road, then on a journey of fulfillment, joy, and victory. Helping people and activism fed his soul, built calmness, instilled compassion and mindfulness within him.

Episode Three: HB
The timeline of homophobia within carceral settings and Su'ganni's lived experiences of homophobia in prison. The same structure that is racist is also sexist and also queerphobic is the education that Su'ganni and his peers are doing at workshops for all incarcerated people. The action and work that is required for us to become one people, while going on to build an accepting, healthy, and diverse society is the work
